Cami Presha-Wendel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a background in counseling teens and young adults in educational settings. She earned her Master鈥檚 degree in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University Prior to joining the counseling team at Mercy College, Cami worked at a local Middle and High School counseling students facing issues such as: unhealthy peer & dating relationships, negative self-esteem, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance use. Cami also worked as a therapist for a non-profit, providing individual and group counseling services for victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Cami is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the LGBTQ community at Center Link at Yale University. Cami has also completed trainings in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adult and Teens, as well as DBT Steps-A. Cami believes each student鈥檚 life experience is unique and how they have been impacted by their environment varies greatly. Her approach is holistic, and often eclectic, as she gains insight during the therapeutic process in how to help each client individually.
