Dear Students,
I am writing with what I hope is welcome news for you: Mercy College will be fully open for in-person classes and campus life in fall 2021. With widespread availability of the COVID-19 vaccine, and a full adoption of safety protocols, we are confident that we will have the ability to provide a full and vibrant on-campus experience. As the College continues to finalize plans for the upcoming school year, we are continuing to evaluate and comply with New York State safety guidelines but want to provide you with some initial details.
In-Person Classes: Most undergraduate courses will occur in person, with a significant number of online options also available for those who prefer them. Graduate courses will also be offered in a mix of in-person and online formats. When you register, our team will help you select the classes you want and need to build the best possible schedule; one that works around your life and keeps you on the path toward completing your degree.
Class Registration: Summer and fall term registration is now open for continuing students.
On-Campus Support: Offices and services will be restored to full on-campus capacity for the fall term.
Residence Halls: In accordance with social distancing and safety protocols, Hudson Hall and Founders’ Hall at the Dobbs Ferry Campus and Dorm34 at the Manhattan Campus will be open and available for students who wish to reside on campus. The College is planning for single and double occupancy.
On-Campus Activities: We are making plans for an exciting on-campus experience for the Mercy community through expanded Campus Life activities, Tutoring and Support Services, Athletics and many of our speaker series’ events returning.
Safety Protocols: In accordance with state and federal health guidelines, we expect to keep in place safety protocols that we have adopted over the last year including the wearing of face coverings, extra cleaning of common areas and high-touch surfaces, and maintaining social distancing.
COVID-19 Vaccinations: We encourage all eligible students to get the COVID-19 vaccine. To find a vaccine location in your state, click here. For a list of current New York State operated vaccine locations, click here. Residential students and Athletes will be required to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine.
More specific details about the above areas will be communicated in the coming weeks. The past year has been challenging for us all, but I am hopeful for brighter days ahead and look forward to welcoming both current and new Mercy students back to our campuses this fall. If you should have any questions about Mercy’s fall 2021 plans, please reach out to your PACT mentor.
Sincerely,
Tim Hall
President
