Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
In preparation for returning to campus, the College has launched the Mavericks Safe mobile App. This App replaces the Crisis Manager App and offers more user-friendly features.
The Mavericks Safe App includes:
- Health and Wellness Resources: Includes a daily health screening tool and campus resources.
- Friend Walk: Provides a location sharing tool to allow friends or family to track your path to your destination in real time.
- Emergency Plans: Includes guidance on how to react in a variety of emergency situations.
- Campus Support Resources: Access to campus support services.
- Emergency and Non-Emergency Numbers: Quick access for reporting incidents, tips, or concerns.
- Report a Crime Tip: Allows you to inform the Department of Campus Safety about an incident on campus.
- Trigger Mobile BlueLight: Initiates simultaneous location tracking and an emergency call to Campus Safety.
Daily Health Screening Tool:
As we plan to return to campus, you must conduct a daily health screening each day that you are onsite or in-person at another location on behalf of the College. This health screening will include a daily questionnaire required by New York State as part of its reopening guidelines. You may be required to show the results of the daily screening before being admitted to any Mercy location. Any daily screening data collected through the Mavericks Safe App will be tracked separately from any personnel or student records and will be kept confidential, except as otherwise required to be provided by law or public authority during the COVID-19 pandemic. Employees or students who do not have access to smartphone technology may print a copy of the and show it upon arrival at a Mercy Campus.
The Mavericks Safe App is available to download for free from iOS or the Android Play Store and is your resource to stay connected and make your experience on campus safe and informative. Users are able to log-in using their Mercy credentials. If you have questions about the Mavericks Safe App, please contact the Department of Campus Safety at (914) 674-7225 or safety@mercy.edu.
Additionally, the College has submitted its reopening plan to New York State officials. The plan can be found
Sincerely,
Konrad Motyka
