Mercy College to Attend SXSW EDU to Discuss Agreement with the former College of New Rochelle
Mercy College President Tim Hall and Vice President William Latimer, former president of The College of New Rochelle (CNR), have been tapped as co-presenters at South by Southwest (SXSW EDU), a conference for innovative educators. The two leaders will serve as panelists in a case study discussion of the agreement forged last year between Mercy and CNR. SXSW EDU will take place in Austin, Texas, on March 9-12, 2020.
Hall and Latimer will engage participants in an exploration of leadership development for management and administration across all facets of the education system. Their conversation will include groundbreaking insights on topics ranging from school, district and institutional leadership to business and executive management.
Joining Hall and Latimer at the 2020 conference are world renowned and award-winning cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Stanford University Professor Jennifer Eberhardt, author of Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice that Shapes What We See, Think, and Do. Past presenters include journalist Dan Rather, former Gov. Jeb Bush, youth activist and author Marley Dias, NASA Astronaut Leland Melvin and Special Olympics’ Chairman Timothy Shriver.
SXSW EDU is a component of the SXSW family of conferences and festivals. The annual four-day event fosters innovation and creative, forward-thinking learning with a goal of impacting the future of teaching and learning.
Nearly 13,000 attendees from 41 countries participated in the 2019 conference, and included students, teachers, college professors and administrators, and leaders from government, nonprofit and industry.
