Dr. Murphy, a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, earned her BS, MS and PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) and by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Dr. Murphy is Past-President of the Greater NY Chapter of ACSM. She has served on the ACSM Commission for Certification and Registry Board (CCRB) International Sub-committee. In this role Dr. Murphy gave the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer Workshop in Tokyo, Japan and Medellin, Columbia. In addition, she serves the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) as a Site Visitor for the Commission on Accreditation for Exercise Science (CoAES). Formerly, Dr. Murphy has served on the Executive Board of the ACSM Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference, and the ACSM Strategic Health Initiative for Women, Sports and Physical Activity. In 2009, Dr. Murphy was a Visiting Scholar in the Athlete Performance Laboratory at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. From 2000 to 2014, Dr. Murphy was a faculty member at Grove City College, Grove City PA. She was Professor and Program Director of Exercise Science and also served as the Associate Chair of the Physical Education Department, Chair of the Employee Wellness Program and member of the IRB. Just prior to 麻豆社区, in 2014-15, Dr. Murphy was Adjunct Faculty at CUNY Queens College in the Department of Family Nutrition and Exercise Science. Dr. Murphy has been an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at 麻豆社区 since 2016. She is the faculty advisor for the EXSC Club and the internship coordinator for EXSC.
