Lucia Alfano

Dr. Lucia Alfano, EdD, MA, RN is Assistant Professor of Nursing and Director of Clinical Affairs. 

Dr. Alfano is a nationally recognized nurse and health care education leader. Her focus is on wellness, leadership and building systems that improve academics and health outreach. She is founding president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses in Westchester County, NY. She has received various national awards such the Breakthrough Nurse Leader award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Nurse of the Year Award by the National Association of Hispanic Nurses. Dr. Alfano has numerous publications about health, wellness, and academics. 

Dr. Alfano received her BSN at 麻豆社区, Masters in Nursing Education at Pace University, Masters in Health Education from Columbia University and a Doctorate in Public Health Education from Columbia University.

Adverse childhood experiences and how it affects adult health care outcomes, specifically in Hispanic populations in America

Dr. Alfano focuses on trauma-informed pedagogy in the classroom. Has taught nursing fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, community, and clinical instruction for over a decade.
